The Strays

Greedy Hen recently created a paper stage and some tiny paper instruments for a rowdy kitten band to trash, rock star style.

Awwww

We made tiny speaker stacks, paper persian rugs, and guitars.

We even made some tiny amps

a kitten size tambourine

and a "Catio" keyboard.

We named the band The Strays

and if you look closely at the paper bottles on top of the speaker stacks, you can see that their beverage of choice is Catnip.

The stage was lit beautifully and hazed up with some moody smoke machine.

The kittens held onto their instruments like true professionals

before chaos broke out....

they trashed the stage and all our hard work, but geez they looked cute doing it!

The project was for Master Card

and was put together by One Six Six Productions.

Directed by the combined creative genius powers of Patrick Chambers & Brendan Willenberg (aka Brenrick).

Produced by number one nice guy Josh Jenkins.

the Falls Festival poster

Falls Festival have just announced the first round of this years festival lineup.

Have you checked it out yet? it's going to be pretty epic. We're quite excited about the always magnificent Fleet Foxes.

They've also finally unveiled this years poster artwork, which means we can now show you how we made it....

The first step was to make a grassy hillside out of paper and watercolours.

We then cut out some paper trees and tried to make a slightly three dimensional paper logo.

We then created a giant mess in our studio putting up the trees, building a tent, and playing with different mountain backdrops.

We also had a play with different colour backgrounds. The night time scene was pretty sweet.

The friendly folks at Falls Festival also requested an owl be included in the artwork. But not just any old bird, they wanted a Powerful Owl, which is a native species of the site where the festival is held.

Being vivid

This year as part of the Museum Of Contemporary Art's program,

Greedy Hen have been invited to participate in the Vivid Creative Sydney Festival

Image Alt Text

Last year we showed video art in a projection that was bigger than our imaginations on a night curated by the very talented Tim Maybury.

This year expect something a little more tongue in cheek and sculptural in a work called 'Prize For Getting By'.

7pm - 10.30pm June 11th at The Museum Of Contemporary Art, Circular Quay in the Vivid Creative Sydney Broken Stone Records Showcase.

Brigadier Brickman

If you dig smiley enthusiasm you might want to witness the fun and calamity of Greedy Hen's Katherine (Brigadier Brickman)

DJ-ing alongside Count Doyle, at the album launch of the epically talented Belles Will Ring

Saturday 16th July At everyone's favourite good vibes small club Goodgod

Playing alongside Belles Will Ring are Richard Cartwright of Richard In Your Mind, Kill City Creeps and young guns The Fearless Vampire Killers.

So be sure to get there early 'cause the latter, radio sweetheart Johanna Roberts describes as "four boys out of Melbourne

with a sharp ear for all the best of the first decade or so of the devil’s music"

If all that hasn't got you quietly smiling and nodding, here's a little taster of some of the magic you can expect from the DJ booth..
